I’m going to tell you about my language learning experiences. I have studied three languages including Japanese before. I have learned English, French and Japanese. I started studying English when I was a junior high school student. I learned Japanese in an elementary school, junior high school and high school. French started when last year and I studied it for a year.
I first learned English when I was a freshman of a junior high school. Before a first English class, I was waiting for the class with eager anticipation. I was looking forward to studying English because that was my first time to study foreign language. I first learned how to read and write alphabet. A sentence which I first studied is “Hi, I am Yuki.” My teacher made me remember sentences in a textbook. In the junior high school, I learned basic grammar and pronunciation. I learned English in a high school, too. In the high school, I learned about more applied English than junior high. I came to read longer sentences. I improved my vocabulary. I studied for National Center Test for University Admission, so I solved a lot of English problems.
There is a Japanese class in a Japanese school. I have been learning Japanese from elementary school to high school. In the class, I learned a lot of things related to Japanese. For example, I studied Kanji. I must remember readings and how to write of Kanji. To remember them, I wrote them down again and again.
I started studying French when I entered KGU, because I selected French as the second language. In the first French class, I learned about pronunciation of alphabet. French and English both use the same characters, but pronunciation is difference. It is difficult for me to pronounce French “r” sound. I would like to learn French one more year, but I couldn’t take the French class because there is Writing class at the same period to the French class. It was interesting for me to learn French, but it was pity for me that I could not take the French class. French is similar to English in grammar. There are words that are like English words in French.
As you can see, I have learned three languages which are English, French and Japanese before. I first learned English when I was a junior high school student. I first learned Alphabet. I studied French last year. I have been studying Japanese for 12 years.
